Investopedia.com, Smartasset.com, Forbes.com/advisor, Nerdwallet.com:

Use their search bar to find the topic you're seeking. They also provide useful calculators, guides, comparisons, and 'best of' lists. Investopedia also provides an easily digestible synopsis of the topic, key takeaways, and a short video.


Experian.com, Equifax.com, TransUnion.com: The three credit reporting bureaus that FICO and VantageScore use to calculate your credit score. You can request your free credit score at each of the sites. If you're a victim of identity theft, you can freeze your credit reports and file a dispute. Consumer Financial Protection Bureau 

An official US government website that provides consumer education. Additionally, this is the go-to site to help you resolve many types of complaints about credit reports and credit scores. 


Internal Revenue Service (IRS)

An official US government website that provides information about taxes. Discover locations near you where you can receive free tax prep and filing assistance through the VITA program. Additionally, check if the best amount of taxes is being withheld from your paycheck by using this tax withholding estimator.

Useful sites to start your rental search in San Diego County: Rentals.com, Realtor.com, Apartments.com. There are many others but these are a good start.


California Megan's Law: provides information on registered sex offenders in California. Most importantly, its maps show sex offenders living near your address.


Crime Mapping: shows mapping of crime in your area.


California Tenants and Landlord Rights: a guide to residential tenants' and Landlords' rights and responsibilities.


Understanding Your FICO Score


Find your Water provider • Find your Electricity/Gas provider • Find an Internet Service Provider. For information about wastewater (sewer) and garbage collection, visit your city's website.
